ATV mount Javad Nav System

This setup saved me some time and walking.
Had to run out and mark some lines in the woods near the edge of a field, navigate to line crossings and computed search corners,so I put this together fast and cheap.
The L.S. can stay under the open sky in the first example.
The L.S. is rubber mounted and the screen visible. Can think of a few improvements if I am so inclined.
The last picture shows an isolated stone pile on a creek bank I found on the line I computed for search.
The front end of the ATV is on my line. found another stone pile on line at the other edge of the field on line behind the ATV.

A ball mount would be better if leveling was a big concern.
Could be used for topo easliy.

Nice, Sean. I have made one that has a similar design, and made good use of it. Does the quick disconnect allow it to rotate in azimuth? Mine does, and I'd like to make it always face the seat, but I haven't found a good way to do that yet.

I'd also like to find a way to better shock mount it. It can take quite a beating over rough terrain.

how about mounting a distance meter next to the L.S? for locations? (distance distance or as distance azimuth if real close to point being located) John I try not to beat the LS if I travel over rough terrain I pop it off and tuck it away nice and safe in my cargo box. Yes it does rotate so you can read it where you are standing.
