Base got bumped off point

Hi everyone,
Something happened yesterday that I have been dreading since I got my system a couple years ago. I was plugging along doing a topo survey and lo and behold, when I did a check into one of my control points at the end of the day, I was off by like a half a foot. I quickly returned to my base unit and saw that the wind, which had been howling all day, had blown a stray plastic garbage can into the legs and pushed it off point and level.
Is there any way to tell from the data when this happened? Like a dummy, I did not download the base data (I was on a good control point so did not need to post process).
Thanks for any input!
Bruce

You can still download the base data after the fact. You might try downloading the file onto your PC. Then use JPS2RIN (a free utility) to break the file into 30 minute files. Send each of the 30 minute files to DPOS and watch for the coordinates to change. You might be able to do 15 minute files depending on your CORS density.

JPS2RIN:

Shawn, that is cool, but you might have to walk me through what to do after the downloading. I was able to download it, but am not sure where it is now in the LS.

I'd recommend downloading the base file directly to your PC using NetView. I would not use DPOS in J-Field for this. Once you find out the "when" then you can translate the points before to the undisturbed position and the points after to the disturbed DPOS position in CAD. You'll have a period of time (with this technique) that you won't know if the position was disturbed or not.

You can avoid using NetView now that the file is on the LS. The file will be in one of two places:

Internal Memory>VS Data>Maps>[project name]>Raw Data

or

SD Card>VS Data>Maps>[project name]>Raw Data

So you could just use Browse Files to copy the file from its location on the LS to a thumb drive, or use Windows Mobile Device Center to copy the file from the LS to your PC.

If you take the thumb drive route, make sure that in System (second home page), Customize, that "Allow Browsing Files in Internal Memory" is checked on, otherwise you won't be able to see the Internal Memory in the file navigation screen.

Hi, everybody. Unfortunatelly DPOS does not accept RINEX so jps2rin utility would not help. The only way to split base into many jps files offers Justin Link (free software). There are a lot of opportuties in Justin Link that can clear when the fact happened.
Next an hour I am at the office. You may publish the base file here. I can help.

Thank you, Alexey. I was sure that we could export jps in JPS2RIN, but I see that I was wrong about that.

Bruce, I apologize for the bad advice. Alexey will be able to help you much better than I can.

Are the compass and tilt sensor readings recorded in the jps files?

Found the file Shawn, it was under \Triumph-LS00428\Storage Card\VS Data\Maps\1701 EWWD-RH2\Raw Data. Bummer that I can't use the route you suggested, but many thanks Alexey for the offer! However, I don't seem to be able to upload a JPS file using the "Upload File" button on this forum.

Yeah, it's too big. ZIP is about 13mb. I was able to search and find out about the file uploading service site. It's on there now under this name: Base4_120637.jps

Alexey, I had to leave my computer for a while to do some work. I could not attach the file to this thread due to it's size. Even as a ZIP it was over 13mb. Too big to attach. So I uploaded it to the Javad File Uploading Service.

Thanks Eugene, but it still says it is too large. I am just using the "Upload a File" button on this page. Is there another option?
