Try clearing the NVRAM and then power it off.

I tried clearing the NVRAM and then powering it off but my battery LED is still constantly lit. Any other suggestions?

Some of my clients reported the same issue earlier. As they purchased the receiver more than 5 years ago, I suggested to replace the battery.
