Connecting LS to a computer

I am trying to connect the LS to a computer through a USB, using the mini USB port, Can not seem to connect.

I am trying to go into the SIM card to delete old projects. without actually pulling the card.

Maybe this is not the correct way to delete old projects. I know you can go into the files section and delet them that way, was trying to back up everything that was on it

You have to use the original USB cable.

Also you need Windows Mobile Device Center installed on your pc.

Is it a special cable, I have many of those type of cables not sure which is which

It's a heavier gauge of wire. All black.

You can also connect remotely through RAMS over the Internet. Very handy way to download files.

Yes, projects should not be deleted this way. They should only be deleted from J-Field (Collect>Project>Open Project from List>Delete). You can archive projects from the Project menu as well to back them up. Manually deleting files through WMDC can cause problems and is not recommended.
