Draw Alignment

Hi all,
Have not posted in a while, trying to be retired!
I am doing some minor staking for an old client on an old job, and can't for the life of me figure out how to get a rather complicated Alignment to show up in the Map. I stake to it, but it doesn't show up in Map. This Alignment was manually input (not imported in any way). It does not show up as a polyline in the listing either.
Thanks for any help.

Did you check if its page is turned on? If that is not the problem then attach the project or connect on RAMS so I can look at it.

Hi Matt,
I believe the Alignments are all on Page 0 as well as my survey points. The points show up, but I don't see the Alignments. How do I verify the Alignments are turned on, or even the Page they are on for that matter?

Bruce I checked this and when you use "Create Alignment" to create an alignment it is only visible in the map when you select it to be staked.

Okay, I will check that next time I am onsite. I do see that it is on Page 0 using the Info icon in Edit Alignment. How could I change the page? Alignments don't seem to show up in the Points listings where I can edit that. Also, if I wanted to just create a polyline of the Alignment, how could I do that other than import it from CAD?

I wanted to just create a polyline of the Alignment

You can do that with Edit Alignment > Manage Stake Points > Check Create Points > Save All Stake Points to the Map

ALIGN-MANAGE-STAKES_20231121-13.01.07.png

This will create both the points and polyline in the map and in the list of points in the Points screen.

Thanks Matt, I think that worked...sort of. I do have polylines for the Alignments showing up. I am not sure if the curves are there, however. Graphically, it just looks like chords, and the distance of the polyline is shorter than the Alignments stationing. Appears it just drew a polyline between the major points (PC to PT, etc). My hope was that I could just stake to this polyline as well as seeing where it lay in the Map, but I think I will need to continue staking to the Alignment. But this mostly meets my needs. I would have preferred Alignments having perhaps an option to automatically draw in the Map.
Still, thanks!

I don't think this will draw curves. It just connects all the Stake Points with a polyline. To do what you want, in the future I think it would work best if you draw the polylines in CAD and then import the CAD file in J-Field.
