Hughes Net

I have been trying to upload my Triumph-LS to DPOS using HughesNet Satellite Internet Service, since I've owned the unit (3 months) with no luck. It starts to upload, but looses connection after about 2%-4%. I tried using both Wi-Fi and hardline connection, with the same results. I am in a rural area, and need to drive about 6 miles to get decent cell phone service, where I can set up a hot spot with my phone, and upload through my phone.

I also can not hook up to other Wi-Fi services, such as McDonalds, Wendy's, etc., so I'm stuck using my phone as a hot spot. Any suggestions?

Have you tried RAMS with one of the 5 (or is it 7?) PLS's? If you have any Internet connection maybe they could help you out.

Worked with Adam a little with the HughesNet connection, and I think it has something to do with the latency between my connection and the HughesNet satellite. This is just an assumption at this point, and doesn't explain why I can not upload to DPOS over another WIFI network such as McDonalds, Wendy's. Uploading using my phone as a hotspot works good, as long a I have a good 4G connection.

Mike, I haven't ever tried using wifi at those places. I wonder if they restrict doing stuff like DPOS. I was at a customers yesterday and they couldn't get on rams because of their firewall settings. Once the IT guy added the IP address for rams to the safe sites it worked. @Eugene Aksyonov may have some info about the public hotspots. Also check your firewall settings at home. Maybe that is why DPOS won't go thru.

Tried the firewall, and that didn't work, still loses connection after about 2%.

I was thinking the same think about the public hotspots, just wondering if anybody else is experiencing the same thing.

Most public hotspots such as McDonald's you have to accept their terms and conditions to use it through a web browser which can not be done through the LS.

I'm not sure about Hughes Net. I have not tried it through sattilite internet.

Have you tried running a speed test for HughesNet?
Yes, it's varies, but for the must part is equivalent to DSL. I generally don't have a problem uploading or downloading anything else, including updating my receiver. It's just the DPOS I have a problem with; that's why I am thinking it might be the latency between my connection, and the HughesNet satellite.
