I just saw the 3rd-party app for the J Tip on the Google Playstore today.. Downloaded it and had trouble getting it to connect. Has anyone else tried it or seen it?

It would be great if it did. I had left my regular metal detector at the shop and I thought I was going to be lucky and get the app to work. I hope someone continues working on the app. It would be greatly useful.
I just downloaded on my Tripltek tablet and had a hard time getting the jtip to connect, it finally did. The button on the jtip isn't the best I ever seen. My brother buck told me about it and his works on his phone.

I'll play around with it and see what it does.

So I have had a j tip in my vest for years, but not very good at using it, so I don't. John mentioned the app for your phone that I was unaware of. Downloaded...hooked up, but not sure what I am doing. Anyone using this got some cliff notes they want to share or a link to directions for this non-Javad app? Would be nice to leave the bush Wacker, I mean beeper in the truck sometimes

I've created an app for Android that can connect to and utilize the J-Tip features. I need 12 users that would be willing to install it and test it for me for at least 14 days when I'm done so I can publish it on Playstore. Any takers?

I am getting close. The J-Tip is working on my app with features such as depth estimation and object ID with editing capabilities, so you can manually enter the actual object when you recover the point, and the app will learn from your input. When the Device GPS is on or connected to the external Rover, when you hit a peak value sustained for five seconds, the app will give the user the option to accept or reject a shot on the object. There is a sensitivity slider that allows the user to decrease the sensitivity when pinpointing, which helps with constant high-pitch output. The issue is that this is a fully functional Field Data Collection/CAD software. I am in the final stages of implementing 3D scanning and Topography features, and I should be done. Hopefully. Here are a couple of screenshots, the one screenshot shows a job I have that has over 5000 points in it.

Hi Gregory, so your 'application' can use any GNSS receiver or scanner and coupled to the JAVAD J-Tip Sensor, yes ?
