LS+ won't turn off touch screen and hard buttons don't work

Need some help guys. Was out doing a survey, started up with base and TCP doing stake out and even shot a corner with verification. Went to stake out next corner and touch screen was locked up. Push Home hard button and nothing. Tried to use ON/OFF hard button to reboot, nothing. I am back in the office now and it is still on after 2 hours. Anybody know the solution.
Saw the little hole next to the ON/OFF button. Is that a reset button that use a paper clip to shut it off. Not going to do that until somebody tells me that is the correct way. Also what was the cause of this in the place? Any help would br greatly appreciated. Mike

Found a previous post on the forum about holding down the ON/OFF button until the LS shuts down. It worked. Projects and points seem to be there. Concerned about why it happened if anybody knows. Kinda wish I was still a drinking man, would go ahead and have aq stiff one. Oh well Sam"s Cola will have to do. Thanks all.

Holding the on button down, til she shuts down is called a 'hard reset".
Occasional use is required. Maybe once a year.

One of my LS+'s screen and hard buttons has frozen twice in two weeks had to recover from old Restore Points and then reload all software. This also happened to that unit a couple times in 2022. Not sure what the cause was.
