No Epoch Shot Rejection

Got a weird bug here Ive been meaning to post about. When collecting a point if I have 0 epochs it will not allow me to store the shot. It will automatically reject it. It doesn’t happen much but its probably one of the worst times for it to happen for obvious reasons. I have lost several long occupations because of this. I have linked a video to the latest occurrence below. Anyone else experience this?

I have seen that happen twice before. Both times it was in Stake, not in Collect. Both times it happened with RTK epochs collected, though, and both were short occupation times, maybe a minute or so.

Good catch. It would make sense perhaps that in stake a session with zero RTK epochs would fail.

Ok I see. So you think in collect this wouldn't be an issue?

You should change the current coordinate to RTPK instead of RTK and I don’t think this would happen. In the video you had RTK selected.

Good thinking. I will give that a try next time. I guess I didn't think of that since it only displays one solution when there are no epochs.

I am resurrecting this post to show this issue is still happening. To reiterate, when there is multiple RTPK fixes and no epochs collected, it will not store the shot. I have tried switching to RTPK but it still rejects the shot. I have provided a video in Collect and Stakeout. It would be wonderful to get this worked out. For obvious reasons, this only happens on really tough shots that take a good while to collect. I appreciate any input or suggestions.

Not sure how long your sample time is set for before it tries to get an rtpk solution.. I think mine is set at 60 seconds.

Had the same issue last week. Fortunately I was able to reset and get a single epoch so I could store the rtpk data.

There is a solution in the Collect screen.

Under your profile settings - Action Setup -
Go to the Options button - make sure Activate DPOS after - is set to anything other than Never
We set it to 5 minutes

When you have started an observation and only have an RTPK solution but want to store it.
Tap the Stop button

You will then see the Accept button in the lower right- Do NOT tap this - it will reject the shot
You want to tap the button right above it - I think it says Save for PP

Then another box will pop up in the middle of the screen - I think it says Attach Raw File for Post Processing
Tap that and the RTPK position will be stored.

I usually forget to not tap the accept button about once a week and loose the RTPK position, so that really needs to be fixed, but this will work.

This is a workaround in the Collect screen but is not available in the Stakeout menu. Its really a bad glitch because, you don't know your in this situation until its too late. I rely on stakeout very often for my workflow and its a real time killer when I have invested 10-15 minutes to never get an epoch and can't store the shot.

My workaround currently is to take a picture of the coordinates and manually type in the position.

Javad support, any way this could get some priority?

Why not make the simple change to JFIELD to allow acceptance of RTPK point without a collected RTK point? Should be an overnight fix for the development team.

If there are no RTK epochs stored and only RTPK fixes have been obtained, JFIeld will reject the shot when you try to store it as shown in my videos. Its a glitch that has been present for many years.

As you can imagine, to get no RTK epochs it has to be a very challenging environment. And sadly that's when you need your data the most. Any progress toward fixing the bug would be greatly appreciated.

It is setup to do that. You can toggle to either solution. But if you don't have any RTK epochs, it will reject the shot, even if its toggled to RTPK. Its a glitch.

What I meant is having the development team modify the Jfield code to allow acceptance of the RTPK point without having an RTK fixed point. With all the sophisticated things they have been able to do in the past, modifying the routine should be 5 minute fix.
