PDF Reports

I'm trying to print a PDF report of the project, which worked for me once, but now it suddenly no longer works. I select the output path, select to export all project data, and it goes through the progress bar and says "xx points saved", but when I browse to the output folder, it's just empty. It will export a CSV file to that same directly ok, just not PDF's.

Hi Aaron,
Could you send us the project please.

I used the "send project to support" button on the LS. Please let me know if there's anything else I need to do or if you don't get it.

J-Field version is 2.0.5.674

Hi Aaron,
I didn't find the project. Could you export it and send it through forum please.

It said the file size is too big here. Do you have your email published somewhere on the website?

Since this thread is on PDF reports, I'll ask a different question than Aaron about them. I have started doing this on a few projects lately and am wondering. Is there any way to decrease the file size it's creating? I took a job I just completed and only exported about 15 "corner" points out of the total of 200 points in the job. I selected legal size when exporting. The file size it crated was 18mb. While not gigantic, it is too big to, for instance, send through an email and such. This particular file had about 12 photos attached to the points that we took and attached to the shots.
Is there any settings that could decrease the file size such as the quality of the pics, etc.?

You could do this outside the LS on your PC. Use a pdf creator such as http://www.primopdf.com/ to print to a pdf, reduce the resolution and quality in the options.

Hi Mike under Export range select list and pick points or if they are all on one page you can select by page.

What happened here that made this plot string out? I've seen an explanation of the symbols and numbers on this screenshot before, but I can't find it now.

It's on the way to you.
Hi Aaron,

I exported your project by using different J-Field versions. All worked fine including version 2.0.5.674. So I could suspect the following things, that could prevent PDF generating:

· Insufficient space on USB flash drive.

· Unsupported logo image format, e.g. 64-bit PNG.

· Output file name with unsupported characters.

I don't think any of those three are the case.

· Insufficient space on USB flash drive: I have 7 GB free on the SD card.

· Unsupported logo image format, e.g. 64-bit PNG: I don't know what this means, but I didn't upload any logo images.

· Output file name with unsupported characters: I tried it with the file name "test.pdf" so that shouldn't be an issue.

The path I'm saving to is SD Card\VS Data\Export. When I browse the content of the LS on Windows, it has the card name as "Storage Card". Could the different names for the card cause the problem? Maybe, but I've exported .csv and .kml files to that same card.

I was able to export to my dropbox on the LS, and after that I could suddenly write to the SD card again. Now when I try it today, it's back to not working again. Every other format exports just fine - it's only the PDFs I'm having trouble with.

Hi Aaron,
It could be due to insufficient memory. Could you reboot device and export PDF immediately. Please let me know if it works.
