Sigma - RTK - NMEA messages

Hi, I am new in this forum and we are using a javad sigma, especially for measuring instrument landing systems. However I want to use this device too for developing a testdrive equipment for measuring surface multilateration systems. At the moment I can dump GGA and RMC NIMEA messages on serial com port. Is there a possibility to configure some more messages like gsa,... I did some research and found out that javad netview should be used for configuring the device - nevertheless I couldn't find any option neither in the software nor in the manual how to do this. Could give me some support please how to realize this! Thanks a lot :)

Hi,
on our Laptop we used NetView ver. 4.7 where I couldn't find the message option. Yesterday I did a Dump with a terminal program on serial port and found out that Sigma is sendig gga and gsa Messages.
I've downoaded no NetView & Modem on another Laptop logged in order to search the configuration Option from you screenshot and found it. Afterwards I did again a Serial Dump but couldn't see any data on Serial port anymore. Could it be that when using the new Software anything happend?
Finally i need a running system were i could switch between These two Options set0 - gsa/rmc and set1 gsa/rmc/gga. I assume I could define These two sets in the custom Messages sets Option and have to configure afterwards a serial port to use either one of These to message sets? Could it be that at the moment there are no Messages configured on the Serial port? See screenshots...
Thanks

as i am connected to the device via a Serial Connection i assume I have to choosed /dev/ser/a for the Standard Output Serial channel. However when doing this and chossing set 1 I cannot confirm/enable it - after a while Deferred:set 1 dissapears.

hi, i found out that I've to set the message type on /dev/ser/a so that under Output message deferred:set1 is listed. afterwards I've to close the the Connection. When doing a Dump with a terminal program I can see the Serial Output data again. HOWEVER, when starting NetView & Monitor Program again the set is lost again. I think that mustn't happen, or do you have an idea? After a reboot of the Sigma device there are still data on Serial Output, that's ok.

Hi Robert,
NetView disables messages and all other activities on the port when connecting. It orders message itself to display satellites, position, time, and other information, and also sends many different commands to the receiver.
Please do not connect to NetView via the configured port. Port configuration will be lost.
You can use Terminal mode to open the port as is.

Ok - and how do I realize this?

Do I also have the possibility to set the update rate of nmea Messages (gga/gsa/rmc) e.g. 2Hz (0,5s)?

Then select your custom message set for the current port.
It will be configured when netview is disconnecting

Then disconnect receiver by clicking red cross.
My blt/a port is now configured to output GSA with rate 0.5
I can check it in terminal

But when connecting with NetView & Modem to Sigma via Serial conncection just the ports configuration - in my case dev/ser/a is deleted, which means the Definition of the Output message. all other configured Options won't be deleted or modified. You've just do configure message Output type again on that Serial port you've connected to the device?
Does Sigma provide a message too which gives us Information About the gps accuracy? E.g. Garmin uses a proprietary message called RME.

Robert, please use another port for connection to the NetView after serial port output is configured. USB, Bluetooth, Ehternet.
Sigma provides at least 8 ports.

Hi, first of all - thank you for your great and quick support. Checked - I'll have a try using usb or ethernet. But when logging to Sigma via Serial Connection just the Output type is deleted which you've to configure again - all other Adjustments won't be modified - I hope so...

Hi,
Concerning Netview&Modem Software:
- is it necessary to enter the cable lenght or delay time of the javad to gps-antenna cable into the software.
- is there a value or threshold to determine when the rtk switches from fixed to float. I did some measurements and found out that once the measurements jumped from rtk fixed to gps only. I thought thats possible to jump to float first?

THX

Hi , Robert;
You don't need to enter the cable's length because the group delay caused by the cable on the rover's side as well as on the base's side, namely their difference, together with other delays is estimated in rtk.
RTK switches to fix solution automatically, as well as from fix to float, or right to standalone. When rtk filter run, it can provide float solution form the very start, except the epochs when measurement outliers are detected and cannot be isolated, then it resets itself and does not provide any rtk's solution, and the standalone solution goes out. When rtk can fix phase ambiguities using a criteria, so called 'contrast ratio', it provides fixed solution. Please read GREIS manual, http://download.javad.com/manuals/GREIS/GREIS_Reference_Guide.pdf , to get familiar with all settings.

Alexander
