New LIDAR technology without moving parts:
Just trying to schetch here some of my toughts about sensor fusion using Lumotive U30 micro-LIDAR and T3 (or J-Mate +inside IMU GNSS) as a basic development platform.
In my opinion, using GNSS + 4x synchronized U30 Lumotive micro-LIDAR, could create a 360 degree point cloud, or follow a moving target acting as a Total Station.
Wide field of view (up to 120º x 90º) + all constellations, 10m range, low power consumption (< 0.5 W), could be all that we need in the field.
Leica GS18i uses Visual Positioning, but I think a "J-Hybrid" device like T3 could use LIDAR Positioning which is far better than image.
