Triumph-LS has lost sound

I was having some weird noises coming from my Triumph-LS (like scratchy broken speaker noises) prior to it now not making any sound. Is it broken or is there a setting somewhere that I turned on (or off)? It's not muted, I checked that. I get nothing now during field operation, startup, or USB sync.

Bruce, the sound board failed on mine a few months ago. It is a know issue. Try rebooting the LS by holding the power button down about 10 seconds. If that doesn't work it'll need to be sent in for repair. Look at thread "no sound" as well.

Thanks Adam. The hard reboot did not change anything. I looked through the No Sound thread but it looks like I will have to send it back for repair. Kind of in the middle of stuff right now, so I will suffer through till I get a break then do it.

FYI I had the same issue mid last year with the broken speaker noises etc. but never lost sound.
My LS sound has been working fine after self correcting somehow.

I recommend not setting the volume all the way up and you may get by for a while, Sean. The failure on my was with the volume turned all the way up.

So I sent my LS in for sound board fix on 2-24. Igor sent me an email on 3-9 saying it was fixed and would be sent back shortly. Any way for me to find out when it's expected back? I don't have any tracking info for the return.

I would guess they will assign a tracking # as soon as it is processed to go back to you. You should call San Jose and inquire.
They have always been very helpful and responsive in my experience.

Thanks Sean, yeah I figured that, but also thought perhaps there was somewhere on the site here that might give me that info. I have some stuff coming up next week that I really could use it on, but guess I will go to plan B. I will hope for an email or something later then!

Yes, this was done to keep the sound from failing. Try out the Bluetooth headset feature for noisy areas Nate, it works nicely.

Just wanted to say that I did get my LS back in time to use it on the work I had coming up. A bit surprising that I got no notification (email or such) saying it was shipped, but nice to see it sitting on my porch when I got home! Good to have the sound back.

Another thumbs up for tech support. I setup the next day on site and could not get the rover to accept corrections from the base. I called Shawn and he had me up and running in like two minutes! A software bug that is getting fixed in the next update, it seems. Fantastic support from guys who know and use the gear everyday. Thanks everyone for a great product and support.
