Triumph-LS Not Working

OK, here is the scenario: A few weeks back I was contacted by JAVAD, Inc. advising me that I need to send in my unit (Triumph-LS) for an upgrade. I was also having audio problems with it. They were kind enough to replace my unit with a new one to avoid any downtime. When I received my new unit I charged it, calibrated it, loaded a project and proceeded to the job site. I realized that it had a new Rove/Base Set-up. I read the instructions in the manual which seemed very simple, yet, to this date I have been unable to get passed the "Stand Alone" mode.
I created the Rover and Base setup the same way I did previously. I then went to "Rover/Base Setup utility to send the instructions to the base unit via Bluetooth. After sending the intructions and Before "starting" the base unit, i checked to make sure all settings were correct. I started the base unit, then selected "Done" per the instructions. I did not disconnect the Bluetooth connection as this was not in the instructions. I checked the UHF connection which was "Excellent". When I tried to collect data, with Excellent UHF connection and sufficient satellites, I could only get "Stand Alone" readings. All of my setting appear to be correct with at least 2 engines set to Fix. I have been trying to figure this problem out for days with negative results.

Another problem I am having is that the batteries discharge when the unit is idle for a few days and it takes about six hours to recharge them. I don't remember that problem with my other unit before the audio quit functioning.

Any ideas?
Don

Discharging is a firmware issue. Once the new update is available your unit should no longer do this. Call one of the support surveyors and have them walk you through the process.

Is the OAF current in the new unit?

One of the biggest differences between the old base setup and the new base rover setup is that in the old base setup you had to recall the base, go through the base/rover setup and then recall the rover setup.

The new way is to recall your rover setup. You never have to recall the base setup now. Once you have this recalled then go into base/rover setup and follow the instructions that have been posted online. Give it a little time after you hit start base before it starts transmitting. It takes a good 45 seconds or so before it starts transmitting.

Check the OAF in the LS like Shawn said. Then in the UHF status screen do you see a LQ (link quality) near 100% and delay of 0 seconds?

If so then you then you are receiving corrections. If you are still in Stand Alone I would try a hard power off by holding the power button down. If that doesn't fix it I would try a forced update of J-Field and the GNSS firmware.

When start-up the LS there are 3 green lights (battery indicator), 2 on the left side and 1 on the top right. The one on the bottom right is not lit. Is this normal?

When the LS is powered on, the bottom right LED indicates the charger is plugged in when it is green. If you look beside it you will see a plug icon.
