USER GROUPS

I’m interested in who uses JAVAD units in my area, state, region. I think it would be useful to form a local users group. Also, nice to know of units close to borrow or rent in an emergency, and to combine forces on a large project.

This is an official user request for JAVAD to make a map available on this site that shows the location of where the units are. I acknowledge that there are privacy issues. The locations could be dots on a map without any other information. Owners could opt in or out about publicizing names or addresses.

If we knew who owned like units we could meet at conferences, etc.

I think that is a good idea... maybe we could all chime in, and state our location, and type of survey business, (construction, boundary, municipal, GIS, etc) and what areas we were interested in. This could jump start things?

JAVAD could also release regional-only owner names at request of a JAVAD owner in that state who was trying to organize a user group. I suspect there aren't really any privacy issues, but if so...

Another option would be for JAVAD in San Jose to directly email owners in a given state, asking them, if interested to opt-in by contacting the user group organizer. Then JAVAD essentially retains control of its owner info, while empowering owners to get together. Such a possibility could only help JAVAD's marketing and help owners share tips etc.
