Using all the power of J-field

This thread is about using the all the awesome power of J-field, that you may not know about, or how to use.

The idea is, each time you learn to use a new function, or part of J-field, share it. Tell others. I tend to use only the things I understand. Sharing this way, maybe will encourage others to explore some of the neat stuff in J-field.

So, just the other day, I was discussing some surveying procedure with another surveyor. (Thanks Brent)
He said that he was in the field, and knew what his base point was, and what he wanted to do.
HOWEVER, somebody had dumped a load of gravel on his base. Now what?
Turn on the DISTANCE FILTER. Set it for some distance, like 30 feet. Now, drive to ANY previously located object, and tell it to only show points within 30 feet.
Now it only will display the previously existing coords, within 30 feet of your PRESENT POSITION.
Well, he was able with this mechanism, to SET UP his base on an autonomous position, occupy several of his old positions, and back his new base coord in, and proceed to do his survey.
So.... I set mine to show all coords within 60 feet. Then, drove to NEAR where my corners needed to be set. Re-filtered my data, within 60 feet. Then, I was able to pick the coords to set rebars at, from a very short list.
It's just a cool tool.
I wish I had understood it a few months ago... when I wanted to localize on a point that was WAY far from any points on my worksheet.
The DISTANCE FILTER is handy.

Thanks again, to the whole Javad team, for your innovations.

I am continuing to promote your products, because you make good stuff, and listen to your customers feedback.
