I'm starting a new thread to pick up where the "Netview File Transfer Speed" thread left off, as the latter had digressed considerably from the original concept. The photos below show how I modified a T2 so it can be locked to something secure, and the modifications I made to a SECO fixed-height tripod to accommodate a lock.
First, the modified T2. I drilled holes in two of the chassis ribs to permit a 3/32" stainless steel cable to be threaded through and then crimped into a loop:
For the tripod, I drilled a couple of holes through the top and pop-riveted a bracket that I made out of 16-gauge stainless to the underside:
As noted in the other thread, it won't stop a determined thief, but it'll discourage the unit from just "walking away."
