Cogo Clustering and Auto Restart

Can Clustering in the COGO menu be set up to allow more than two points to be picked by the user?

Can Auto Restart be set up with alpha-numeric point numbers, so if the first point is number 20, the second be will be 20A, and the third point 20B, and so on.

The P1 and P2 (P2 is mislabeled and should be Pn I believe) are promoting for the first and last point in the cluster as ordered in the points list. All the selected points are then checked to see if they meet the distance threshold requirement for the cluster. Those that do not are excluded.

Point names never increment alphabetically but advance numerically. 1.1 will increment to 1.2 , 1.3 and 1-1 will increment to 1-2 , 1-3 etc.

There is also "Cluster Average" found in the context menu of the Points screen. It will automatically find and average all clusters.

Thanks Matt, that makes sense with the clustering.

The point number increment of 1.1, 1.2 doesn't work with my TDS Ranger data collector, but we can work around it.

When I logged in, I got the pictures. They helped. I cannot find the instructions for clustering or averaging. What do I need to read? I need a page number and a book. Can 42 and 43 be used for point numbers? I have spent much time tonight searching for the instructions.

What's the difference between Cogo > Tools > Average, and Cogo > Tools > Clustering? Seems like they are the same thing.

With Average, you pick a list of points to average. With Clustering you pick the first and last point and any points listed between them are averaged if they are within the cluster as defined by the distance threshold.
