HPT435BT RSSI Values are unchanged

I can't get any better signal out of the external radio than what I can get internally from the T3. I was told that it was either my radio, antenna cable or antenna. I bought a new cable and antenna, that didn't change anything. I then bought a new radio and that didn't change anything. Would love to get this solved.

Hi Ryan, who have you been working with on this? I always recommend testing the radio and recording RSSI values and screenshots with 100' between the base and rover. Have you done this?

We have been working with John Roscoe on it. He gave us that same chart, so we went through them all. Slight difference between the two radios. We were having trouble connecting to the internal radio last night, but see an update was just pushed. This was all at 100' with the 2.4db gain antenna.

It appears the radio is always outputting about 10 watts. After you change the radio power in Remote Base make sure to Apply the changes. Do you have screenshots of the UHF status screen to see if it shows the output power? I would also check the receiver to Netview to confirm the output power.

The guys are out right now, so I can't test it at the moment. I noticed the same thing about it seemingly being output at 10w, but yes, we were conscious of the need to hit apply. Our UHF screen only ever looks like this with the output power having a dash.

Just to clarify, this screen pertains to the UHF Rx (Receiver) screen of the TR-LS (Rover). Since it’s a receiver, the output power is indicated as a dash ("-") because the rover is receiving corrections, not transmitting.

k, what would be the way to know what kind of power is being transmitted from the Radio? After seemingly updated the T3 through the LS, I can no longer pair the external radio by any means; usb, cable, netview. Are you able to assist with that?

We use to send base temperature, voltage and radio output through RTCM 1029 and show that information in this screen. See https://support.javad.com/index.php?threads/radio-temperature-and-voltage.1166/#post-10017

Do you know why that is not being shown now?

thanks. @Armen Harutyunyan any ideas on how to get the hpt35 to pair to the t3? we can't get anything to show up on netview
If you have a USB-to-Serial cable for the HPT435BT, you can connect the radio to the TR-LS+ and pair the radio-modem by selecting the USB interface. Pairing via USB in J-Field has proven to be quite reliable. Please follow the instructions below:

1. Connect to the TR-3 via Bluetooth and tap on the marked area:

2. Select External, then tap Radio:

@Armen Harutyunyan Unfortunately, that stopped working for us after we reset our T3 to factory state, then updated it over the LS. We have an old radio and a new radio. We can't get either one of them to pair. We have tried downloading usb drivers and connecting to Netview, but nothing is showing up

This issue can be resolved by updating the Triumph-3 'base' to the most recent firmware v4.5.00 411014 (via NetView)
Thereafter the T-3 'base' internal UHF radio-modem will be visible via the TLS JFIELD 'Remote Base' Internal radio.
