LS as a TCP base

Several questions, thanks in advance! Is anyone using an LS as a TCP base for a second LS? I am using an LS on the NC RTN and looking towards a base purchase, when cashflow allows. My options seem to be a T2, T1, T1M or possibly another LS. Will all Of these base solutions provide dpos? L5 NAVSTAR used to be all the rage but I don't hear much about it recently- the T2 seems to lack this signal. T1s are really hard to find. I don't want be kicking myself in 3-5 years by missing constellations, signals and functionality - for not investing in "future proof devices". Adam mentioned the possibility of multiple bases down the road, pretty exciting way to keep some of the original equipment! Where do we see things in 5 years? I know this is an educated guess, but please divulge me.....

The T1, T1M, and T2 will work as a base for the LS with DPOS capability. I think the LS will work as a base for another LS but I don't believe there is a way to use DPOS with the set up easily if at all. I have never tested a two LS setup myself.

A DPOS session can be created when using on the rover LS when using a LS as a base. To do this use "Recover Base point" and then "Attach GNSS file" found in the context menu in the Points screen.

Using a LS as a TCP base appears to need to be fixed when I test it.

Is there a radio in the LS, that can broadcast corrections? (UHF)
Or, does it have other means of sending corrections? Sim card? Internet?
Spread spectrum?

thanks

I guess nobody so far is using an LS to LS TCP base on a daily basis? Mine has the standard UHF and gsm/sim.

Do we expect to be using Galileo and Beidou in fixed solutions in 3-5 years?

Sweet, thanks Matt. Does the T2 have an internal gsm/sim slot? I've seen some conflicting stuff, the latest review in American Surveyor seemed to mention a sim.

There is no modem available in the T2 but it has the ability to connect to WiFi.

Just wondering if I missed something, is the Hybrid L.S. a new version of the L.S. hardware?

This is the UHF Rx / SS FH915 Rx radio option.

Also see the press release about it: http://www.javad.com/jgnss/javad/news/pr20160623.html I typically recommend new customers go with this option unless they intend to use the LS as a base.

This is definit

Yes, here is what Alexander Khvalkov from the RTK firmware team recently said about the status of this:

Hello Everybody,

Development of RTK version with all the seven systems: GPS, Glonass, Galileo, Beidou, etc, is still in process, we have started debugging of Kalman filter, then we are going to re-implement ambiguity resolution. Adding Galileo only, if we are talking about two signals, L1 and L5, is a job of the same complexity as adding all the systems and signals. We are doing our best to speed the process.

Currently, Galileo appears to have the most benefit to surveyors in North America. At times I see six Galileo satellites available on the Triumph-LS. However, if the Chinese keep to their launch schedule that could change in the next year or so.
