I would like it if:
COGO
OFFSETS
To Line 1
1st priority:
Would give me the DIRECTION for the offset.
In AZIMUTH and BEARINGS.
P1 and P2 are the baseline.
P3 is the point, that you wish to know the STATION and OFFSET for. It should give the bearing or azimuth FROM the GREEN dot points,
TO the RED dot point.
2nd Priority:
It would be very nice, if after you give it P1, and P2, that it would give you the brg and dist between P1 and P2, if there was room... But it would be ok just to show P1-P2 Az and Dist, before you give it P3. I realize that having the many options Grid, Ground etc, all takes up space.
Back to 1st priority:
As it is, I have to either break out another calculator, or INVERSE these same points, to figure out what direction to go, to get on that line. Or, I can hit the points drawing, and go LOOK at it. But, that is not very efficient, for field procedure. Especially for the last item below, the field worksheet.
Things I use offsets for, include Checking how far off a certain line, an intermediate point is. Like a fence corner, or another monument. It is "need to know in the field" information. In the field, sometimes we shoot these points in this sequence: P1, P3, P2. So after getting to the end, we want the information.
And, to draw a field worksheet. Via station and offset. I have been doing this for years, with my other software.
