Proud New Owner of LS & 1M...

...well, almost.

The order goes in tomorrow and I can't wait to get the units in hand hopefully later this week. I'm looking forward to learning new software and seeing exactly what I can accomplish with the LS/1M in the mountainous area I work in. @Adam has been a Rockstar....from day one when we spoke on the phone 3+ weeks ago, to coming out to one of MY projects for a day to demo, and even up to the 7:20 am email he sent me this (Sunday) morning replying to yet another question! No question has gone unanswered and his enthusiasm is refreshing. I've not gotten this kind of care from any of my dealers.

I'm thrilled that @Javad has put sales and support in the hands of folks using this equipment daily in their own businesses....brilliant.

Super excited to join the Javad community. Be on the lookout for some overly obvious and simple questions from this user...

Wes,
It would be really cool if you had an additional data collector so that you could A/B test the LS Vs the T1M for RTK in bad environments.

You know the cool kids have the LS, but us T-1M guys have to fluff our feathers now and then! :)

Best I could do is test them side by side on the NC RTN, albeit at a puny 1 HZ though! I decided to go with the T1M as my base for several reasons but mainly 1) so I could split them up and use them both on the network at times (I also have a Carlson collector) and 2) so that I wouldn't need to keep up with an external radio. I'm thinking I'll be able to use the LS/T1M with TCP 90%+ of the time.

I would think (and hope after pulling the trigger on this setup!) that the LS, J-field, and its 6 engines would run circles around T1M and Carlson. Hope that didn't ruffle your feathers! Ha! ;)

I have an idea that you are going to be pretty happy with the T-1m as a base. I understand the T2 is cheaper, and more mobile, but I am surprised that more people are not going the T2 way to really unlock all of the benefits of the LS. If you are going to use the T-1M UHF, you are going to be happy, as I have pushed that thing way further then I ever expected on the 1W radio, in fact I have only used my 35w twice, usually using just the internal.

I know the LS software has its tricks and benefits, but I see a HUGE improvement using the T-1m over my old Hiper. I know part of that is GLONASS addition, but the RTK fixed message comes from the receiver, not the data collector. I am super happy with the way I have my workflow setup now, using the surveyor2 to seamlessly move between RTK, the Robot and conventional.

My dream is that JAVAD partnered with Carlson to create a special module that would plug inside of Carlson specific to JAVAD receivers activating some of the cooler features that LS owners enjoy. I am realistic that will likely never happen with JAVAD now developing their own DC software, and Carlson's partnership with Hemisphere... but man we can dream can't we?

I would A/B the T-1M and the old Hiper, but seems like a total waste of time, and not a fair fight with literally the most advanced receiver hardware up against something that is 15+ years old.

The leaves haven't come out here yet. I have been wondering how much impact that will have. There was certainly no shortage of leafed canopy in Wes' video. Impressive.

Impressive indeed! I really couldn't believe that it went through verification, 180 seconds, and the validation under that massive holly tree. I went in there thinking there's no way it'd do it...wrong.

Couple of picks from yesterday's job with the LS/T1M. The pollen is killer here now...particularly in that hay field!

Oh yeah, elk too. Really cool place. I think you can buy the bison at Harris Teeter. It's in lots of restaurants around here. The farm is Carolina Bison. I'm just surveying up against it.

What is in the seco bag? Did you get the T1M as a base, and no radio? I am aware that at some point, I will want to migrate to a different base. I got the T2 as a base. Really cool pics. Thanks for sharing.
