It would be handy on some occasions when various events occur on jobs.
Hostile adjoiners. (As per the link above)
Friendly folks, with testimony.
Such things.
To be able to press one button, and record audio, and video, during "events".
Face it, surveying is the conjunction of a lot of things. Legal, personal, historic events, crazy neighbors etc. Video. Now, we can use cell phones for this. But, I'm thinking way ahead. We now have "solid state hard drives". Huge ones. At some point, we may wind up just turning on full video, on the LS, all the time. This could solve the occasional improper point description problem. Also, it would allow the office people to "see more" of what happened in the field.
I'm kinda yacking here, but in 5 yrs, or 10 yrs, why not? Wal-Mart is doing a record on all its customers, and theft / loss prevention.
I don't know when we will have 50 usable satellites up, 90% of the time, but then someday, it'll be 60 satellites.
Surveying equipment ain't static, or sitting still.
Kinda cool, huh?
