TRIUMPH3

What is the average number of hours of battery life one can expect in 8 hours onsite?
Will there be a specific category in the forum for the T3?

Hello Michael,

Operation Time is more than 12 hours on one full charge, but it depends on the operation mode of Triumph-3.
The most battery consuming mode will be the GNSS base mode with 1 W UHF transmitting MSM corrections.
Such a mode could consume fully charged new battery within about 8 hours.

Regards,
Vladimir

Along the same lines here, is there any way to check the battery life on the T3 beyond the color coded lights on the back? Green being >30% isn't entirely helpful when when 30% of 8 hours would give me about 2.5 hours on site before the battery dies on the base. Is there a way to check the battery status by connecting with the LS somehow?

Thank you very much for a good suggestion. It's a good idea to add mentioned battery status parameters of Tr3 to be available in LS when connected.

When I saw that the T-3 had such a small battery, I thought RIDICULOUS! A base should have 24 hr Battery life!! So, my thoughts are: Just PLAN for an auxiliary external battery. UNLESS it is just for a short time use, like a couple of hrs work, close to the base.
And, why would Javad and company make it with such a small battery? I don't know. But, I'd guess it's due to future plans, to use it as a rover, or NOT transmitting, or they were cobbling parts, and this was somehow easier. Fact is, I do not know. But, if you plan to use a T3 like a T2, with it's internal radio, get you a nice big 55 AH SLA battery, and a good charger, and "Let 'er rip, tader chip!"
:)

On a T3 with the Spread Spectrum radio what antenna kit (frequency antenna, cable, ground plane)
is compatible?

Matt;
Want to connect an external antenna kit on a mast to elevate it to extend the range.
The antenna kit that used to be for sale seems to have disappeared from the website?
I don’t think there ever was an antenna kit for SS radios for sale on the website. Why not just elevate the T3? The advantage of this is that you won’t have any additional line loss through a cable.

You could buy a L mount and RP SMA extension cable online such as:

https://www.data-alliance.net/rp-sm...8ft-10ft-male-to-female-lmr100-lmr200-lmr400/ (LMR 400 will have the least line loss)

There was an antenna kit accessory. whether or not it worked for a spread spectrum I dont know.
There is not antenna kit in accessories for any radio now.
Are you saying that a SS radio cant have an external antenna?
