trouble finding exported files

My business partner exported a text file of surveyed points that were sent to DPOS via his Triumph LS on the internet. Then he archived the job.

Unfortunately when he went to the USB drive that he had plugged into the LS the files were not there and he doesn't know where to find them internally. Any clues on how to search for something like this?

The job name should include 99-104 2015-05-02A. The text file should include 99-104 DPOS 2015-05-02A.

His unit is currently on the JAVAD GNSS, Inc server , serial number 894

Thanks much.

Dave.

One of the problems I've had is that the J-Field display doesn't -- if I'm remembering correctly (I don't have the receiver in front of me at the moment) -- identify the mounted drive you're looking at, so it's easy to think you're drilling down into your USB drive when in fact you're looking at the SD card. That and the somewhat arcane folder structure that J-Field creates can make it hard to find a given file.

Thanks Jim. I agree and it feels like lately, in ways I can't explain, that this mystery has gotten more difficult. In the last two weeks I generally need to export a file 3 times or so before I actually get it onto the USB drive and I swear I am doing the same thing each time (which probably can't be true). I have been trying to determine the magic sequence of dependability and it has thusfar eluded me.

I had this same problem. I made a folder inside my gorilla usb drive called "A Gorilla USB Drive". Since i sort alphabetically it shows up first and I know I'm in the right spot.

Hope this helps,

thanks Matt, I don't think I've been noticing that, at least not lately. My eyes keep going to the upper left which I have realized doesn't indicate the destination.

I am just following up on this thread.

When I export points to my USB flash drive quite often it works fine, but not always. Sometimes I can try 3 or more times before the file shows up when I insert the USB drive into my laptop.

Tonight, instead of ignoring the drive error that Windows 8.1 throws at me when I insert the USB drive, I allowed it to repair the disk, as it suggests. Then the file that refused to show up was now visible and available. When I exported another test file to that drive from the LS and inserted it in the laptop I got the same disk error notice but the test file was also available to my laptop from the USB drive.

I am running the latest release version of the software. I've never had a problem with this flash drive otherwise and always use the same one when I am importing files into the LS.
