Verizon Jetpack Hiccup

My Jetpack shut itself off last night while I was collecting a shot with the LS. I'm not sure why, but I think it just got too cold. It started back up when I returned to my base and the battery said it was at 90%. The Jetpack user guide says says operating temperature is 32F-95F, and the temperature was a bit lower than that, so it's not a big surprise. I was about out of daylight and wanted one last shot. I don't know if anyone else has seen similar behavior. I hope you don't have to be out in the cold weather, but you may like to know that your Jetpack won't like it either.

I've never looked at the temp specification. 32°F won't be a problem for me, but 95°F sure will. Ice packs, maybe?

I'm doing a GPS on BM session this morning (Trimble receiver), and decided to exercise my Javad IP setup since I've mostly been using an RTN connection. I set a base point, collected an RTN position on it, then set the T2 on it. Went to Base-Rover Setup, recalled the Jetpack config that Adam helped me with, and sent the base point data to the T2, but then I started getting the CONNECTING-INIT-SOCKET FAILED sequence. I can ping the Jetpack, but can't get corrections.

FWIW, the wifi screen shows "Internet access NO" even though I have access at the rover. I can switch back to RTN using the same hotspot (my phone) and it works fine.

Jim, give me about 30 minutes. I will see if I can link to your T2 with NetView and look over a few settings.
For the time being try resetting the jetpack at the base and reboot the LS.

Okay. Text or email if you need the IP address.

Check to confirm that the Base Local IP address is the same as the DMZ IP address in the Jetpack setup:

Hey Matt, netview tells me invalid login and password for Jims reciever. He just texted me the ip and password so I was able to confirm it is what I had saved for him. I can't log onto it.

Have you guys checked if the Base Local IP address is the same as the DMZ IP address? If not, you won't be able to connect to it because the ports aren't forwarded through to receiver.

I don't have access to his receiver. Jim can you check the base local IP matches.

My TCP Server screen doesn't look like Matt's:

And I don't know how to change that value - when I click on it, it takes me to a different screen.

The screenshot I posted is from Base/Rover Setup>Communication Parameter box on the left>TCP Server Configuration

I have attached instructions on how to configure the Jetpack and local IP address on the base.

I'm back in the office now and looking at the instructions. The first hitch I ran into is with Netview: I guess I haven't run it since I got a new computer in late December, and when I try to connect to the T2 via USB I only see COM1 and COM5 for serial connections, neither of which works. I saw the note on the Netview page about using the beta Netview&Modem with Win10, so I installed that, but the serial port options are the same except for a parallel port option, which doesn't seem to pertain to my situation.

Is there a better way to interface with the T2?

Netbrowser from the software page will work on your phone. It's handy in the field.

Actually you should be able download from Google play and not have to download from here.

You may need to install the USB driver if the T2 is not being recognized by the PC when plugged in.
