What do colors mean?

Ok, it seems to follow a pattern. Out in the open, little or no multipath, we get black. And, then, Blue, Magenta, Green, brown.
I run with "10 buckets" If I see 4 or so going, I often stop and re-start, after raising, or lowering the rod.
Are the colors assigned to the groups, or buckets? So, IF I see, say BLUE, does that mean it used group (or bucket) number 2? And, If I see black, then that's "Bucket one"? If this is so, then, tell me what colors are assigned to which group?
I'm just curious. Curiosity keeps me in this game. Thanks.

Or... is it while several groups, or buckets are "Going" on the screen, Say, a black one, and a red one, and a blue one, and then the blue one fills faster, and this one is "Selected" as "The one" then the resulting pile, is Shown in that color, to ASSOCIATE the sequences, from the "Confidence Counter" to the "Smoothing Sequence" activity?

I have a point of philosophy. When surveying a creek, or such like, I like to MEASURE both banks.

I have a "yardage Pro" laser rangefinder. Well, as things in the woods go, It all got wet.... some time back, and was removed from the survey rig, to dry it out, and replace batteries. Well, I've misplaced it now. So, yesterday, I had some 1500' of creek to survey. Width varies. I like to GPS down one bank, and use the "Yardage Pro" to shoot the opposite bank. (one trip down the creek). Well, yesterday, I wound up surveying BOTH banks. The Javad system, allows MORE shots, and HIGHER confidence than any thing I have yet seen.
Nate.

I've never really paid much attention to the orders of the colors but if you look at the vertical plot, the x axis is time so you can see what groups are assigned what color.
