Emulator

Hi guys,

Is anyone aware of or using an LS emulator (I'm assuming the JAVAD fellas will jump all over this..)? I work away for my "normal" surveying job and I don't have access to my own equipment for a couple of weeks. Just want to setup some codes and export parameters when I have a bit of down time.

Thanks in advance

Could you use RAMS to do that with your equipment? Have your field guys link to internet with LS and you get on internet on a tablet or pc and work on it.

You can remotely connect to your LS through RAMS (Support>Remote Assistance in J-Field) on server rams.javad.com:8800

Thanks guys.... I'm in Australia at the moment... Will have to ring the missus up and get her to turn it on and plug it in for me.

Thanks again.

Thanks Shawn,

Yea I could just see it being handy on a computer to produce code files and setup specific things that you can transfer to your field gear later on. We use a machine guidance emulator all the time to produce different displays and user files to upload to the 'actual' gear when we are happy with the results all the time. Handy to have on the desktop.

An emulator would also allow me to train, write instructions, and do some "what if" exploration without tying up any of my units. Please consider this post as a formal request to the development team. Thanks!

Wow. That is a fantastic idea.
I have been thinking about archived projects... the only way to really open and look at them (I think) is to upload them into a functional LS..... In 25 yrs from now, we may be scrounging around to find one of these beasts, to open an old file. I was thinking about WHAT should go into the archive project folder... like the PDF raw file, etc.
Maybe an emulator would be the way to go. That would free the LS to work. ALSO, the small screen of the LS, would now be a larger screen... And, it would ALSO be nice if we could dpos from the emulator... and do other things... hmmmm select the coord, ie, RTK or PPK, or the like.
Say, where was my LS 25 yrs ago? I wish I had had it then!!
Keep up the good work.
Nate

Not exactly an emulator but there is a LS test drive on the Javad website. They have receivers hooked up on RAMS that you can play with.
