Google Drive not showing sub folders?

JAVAD GNSS
Google Drive and Dropbox have implemented additional 'security measures' for users, to ensure that data and information stored to the 'WEB / Internet' is secure.

The best solution that JAVAD recommends is to use your local USB / SD storage transfer 'of Project data' from your JAVAD receivers to your local computer 'project storage' archive folder(s). . . .

Hi John,

Google Drive and Dropbox data transfer has been a feature in the LS for over a decade. It is the way probably 95% of users transfer their data.

A thumbdrive doesn't get the job done when the crew has to send data to the office or the office has to send data to the crew. Driving back to the office isn't an option.

Here is a little thing I found out. Backstory: Engineering company had problems getting Google Drive set up. I remoted in and said there was something wrong but I didn't know what it was. They stated it was a Javad problem. I didn't think so. To prove it wasn't I mentioned trying Dropbox. They did and it worked perfectly. I didn't want them on Dropbox because it seems to me that Dropbox doesn't work as well as Google Drive. Anyway, days passed, and one of the office guys said he figured it out. The Google Drive was in his boss's name/account. He tried using his boss's username/password and it failed. He went to his boss's computer to set up the link and it worked. Long story short Google is very specific on admin privileges. You may have to run web browser/programs (right-click run as administrator). I think it is something so small yet it hangs up the process.
Why having a user name and password to an account not work on just any computer? Why did he have to use a specific computer to make it work? I'm sure some IT-brain guys know the answer. My guess is his boss would have to log out of Google on all devices and then it might work on another computer. I don't know.

I've been limping along using RAMS for file transfer while this Google Drive/Dropbox thing gets sorted out. Could the RAMS Files interface be improved? It has Download and Upload buttons, but it would be nice to have the ability to at least delete and move files to different folders from the Files tab, rather than individually with a bunch of clicks from the Remote Control tab.

I really miss the Google Drive feature.

5. Fix the OAuth Block
  • The real fix lies with JAVAD. Their app’s client_id needs Google verification:
    • Email JAVAD: “Your Google OAuth (client_id=725044411561-...) for app.javad.com/jca is blocked with no ‘Advanced’ option. Can you verify it with Google or provide a non-Google login?”
    • If urgent, call their support line (check javad.com for the number).

please do this javad to fix google drive

Daniel,
That would be wonderful. I have spent hours with Google reps and they all told me it wasn't on their end. I really wish a resolution could be found. This is a MAJOR feature loss that the majority of users rely upon. It has literally cost us thousands of dollars in lost time having to drive back to the office. We built our entire workflow around it. We have found some work-arounds now, but nonetheless it really has hurt us.

In my Google account under Third-party apps and services I have J Field Assistant and Javad Auth Service and my Google Drive works on my LS+. What I see is on customer's account that their Google Drive doesn't work, they only have Javad Auth Service with no J Field Assistant. I remember when in app.javad.com under cloud accounts. When you click on "Connect Google Drive" a pop up would appear "J Field Assistant" and have a Allow or cancel. I think that is the problem. The pop up still works if you try the dropbox option.
In my google account for third party apps:
J-Field assistant has some access to your Google Account. Access was given on April 18, 2023.
Access was given to: Javad.com.
J-field assistant can: See, edit, created, and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app
Maybe this helps. I would like to know from users who use Google Drive and theirs don't work with the LS+. Do you have this J Field Assistant under third party apps?

Hi Phillip, I would assume you are still able to get it to work for you because you have 2 factor authentication disabled on Google account and you do not have a Google Workspace account. See my previous post on this subject: https://support.javad.com/index.php?threads/google-drive-not-showing-sub-folders.6087/post-55077

My 2 factor is turned on and I don't have workspace. Mine was already setup years ago and when I went to connect to google drive in cloud accounts it would not let me connect. So mine is set yet (previously) if it wasn't I don't think I could connect if I tried a new connection.

I have a Workspace account and a non-workspace account. I have turned off 2 step verification for both with no success. I also went and setup an API in the workspace account and it still doesn't work. Under my non-workspace account it says "disabled" for the status. Any ideas on that?

My Google Drive won't connect to J-Field. In my Google Account settings under Third-party apps & services, I only have Dropbox and J-Field assistant, but no Javad Auth Service.

Unfortunately this still doesn't work. Ever since this went down we get this every time we try to click "connect" Google Drive. We can't change settings; go to advanced setting - nothing. We can't ever even GET to a Google Drive account.
I have no doubt this could/would be a VERY simple fix if anyone cared to fix it. We just aren't a priority anymore. The surveying side of Javad was/is a tiny little speck in their company and it was very important to Mr. Javad - it just isn't anymore.

We have had to just learn to "go backwards" and use thumb drives and RAMS. It's functional, but probably about 15% as efficient.

Google hasn’t verified this app

The app is requesting access to sensitive info in your Google Account. Until the developer (jvdappman@gmail.com) verifies this app with Google, you shouldn't use it.
------------------
This is the exact message I got in the middle of the process....
It seems to me that somebody at Javad who controls the jvdappman@gmail.com account just needs verify the app with Google

For what it's worth, before I started the LS today, I checked the status of the J-Field assistant cloud account and it showed the status as "Expired"

After I booted up the LS (and without changing anything on the J-Field assistant cloud account) I was able access my Google drive on the LS. After doing so, the J-Field assistant cloud account showed the status as "OK"

Also for what it's worth, the google account I use for this was set up ONLY to have a google drive account for transfers to/from the LS. That account has NO contacts, workspace, or any of 483 ways that google tries to tie everything about you into their control.... I remember seeing something about having a google workspace or not mentioned regarding this issue before.

If the above didn't work for you, I would suggest setting up a new google account that is limited to nothing (or as little as possible) except a google drive.
I can't say it will or won't work, but it isn't going to hurt to try.
