JPOD

I would like to purchase the J-POD. It's on the site in the accessories category.

Is it in stock and ready for shipping?

Anyone have any thoughts on it's use? I've used either a Seco carbon fiber, telescoping rover rod with a bi/tri pod as necessary or the Javad telescoping rover rod with a seco bipod (the clamp compresses the Javad tubing and potentially causes telescoping resistance). The latter seems to work fairly well with one exception - I can't lock the base bi-pod legs in place for transport.

I'm thinking the new J-POD is the ideal solution.

Jim,
I have gone blind. I can't find the J-Pod in the accessories category. Can you help?

850 for the jpod, by itself? I have a polite request....
If you are going to Pre-Advertise, (not a problem) ALWAYS qualify it with "ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE".

Some of us are running businesses, that depend on these numbers. Some of us may need to buy a SECO, or other, to KEEP working...
Until it is actually released.
Something like:
"Estimated Release date:_____________, more or less, 1 month, or 6 months", (or whatever you deem to be appropriate, for that item). Then, UPDATE this release date, if need be. Such as, "Delay, 6 months".
It would help us.
I recently had a client chew me out, for a project delay. I accepted his comments, because it will help me, to ALWAYS keep my customer in the loop.

thank you
Nate

You extend the bottom sections all the way, then extend the top section to adjust level. Not unlike using a quick lock tripod. I believe the pricing includes the tripod and monopod. It's competitively priced with other center pole, tripod, arrangements. It also collapses down to a much smaller size than a typical bipod.

My J-Pod arrived today. I ordered it without the Monopod.
I have two LS units; both came with the Triumph-VS Monopod. The VS Monopod does not work with the J-Pod because of the Monopod diameter.
I also have a Triumph-LS Monopod. The LS Monopod does work with the J-Pod. However, you must remove the foam grip.
The J-Pod legs do not come with the tips that are advertised and pictured in the add. I am certain it will not hold on "wet glass".
It is very compact and light weight.
The "wings" that protect the unit if it falls are a great idea. I am certain that I will curse them when walking through the briars and honeysuckle, but they are a great addition.
It is going to take some practice to learn to level it.
I think I am going to like it.

The foam pad can be put back on the monopod. I have it on mine. Which tips did it ship with? Also there is a different bracket that has stops built into that keep the Jpod from falling over on slick concrete or marble floors. The bracket that you have allows the legs to be placed in from a wider angle is best suited for the surveyors use in my opinion.

The tips on the legs are the same as the tips on the monopods. I don't object; I was just noting that they aren't as advertised. I think the tips with all of those little points would fill up with dirt and trash on the first day and be painful to keep clean.
I was not successful in pulling the foam pad off. It was attached with a spot of glue. It was easy to cut off, and I can put it back on if I chose to. I am going to work without it for a while. I think that I may never put it back on.
I agree with you that the bracket with stops may not work as well in the mountains.
