Matt,

I rebooted both computers and the LS. Now the computer that said "Cannot read folder (59)" works as advertised. Thanks!

The network link for the other computer still says "Invalid network path (53)". I've tried rebooting a couple times. Now I'm trying to make the settings identical on both computers. Still haven't found the problem.

If you click on the network tab in Windows Explorer you should be able to see both your PC and explore their shared folders:

If you aren't seeing both PCs then something appears to be wrong with the network setup on your PC.

In your control panel you should have the following options enabled:

My Advanced sharing settings are as you have shown except yours shows current profile as "Private" and mine shows "Home or Work" I also don't have the option to turn on automatic setup of network connected devices. I have Windows 7 on both computers.

Windows Explorer network tab on each computer only shows the local computer and no network computers. I've rebooted both computers after making any changes on either one.

I'm about done messing with it. This stuff gives me a headache. Thanks for your help.

The screenshot I posted were from Windows 8. I also wanted to mention that a new feature, support for cloud drives is also currently being tested and should be released soon. Dropbox and Google drive are both supported. Here is a screenshot showing these two cloud drives that I have added:

Nice. Looking forward to it.

The network settings don't seem to be very stable with my setup. I don't know if it's a problem with Windows, or antivirus, or hardware. My notebook computer will sometimes be able to access the shared folder on my desktop, but sometimes not. The desktop has never been able to see the notebook. The network printer is sometimes there, sometimes not. Once in a while Homegroup works.

I find I'm using Dropbox more just because it works.
