True about the screwdriver, but trying to manipulate those screws while the unit is attached to the top of a 2-meter tripod might prove to be frustrating. I agree about the deterrent value of any lock, though -- if the item isn't easy and quick to grab, a lot of thieves will look elsewhere for their booty.
