It might be good to add a button that will delete text ahead of the cursor. The language button could be removed to add this:

A long click of the backspace or forward delete button could also have the additional functionality of clearing all the text behind or in front of the cursor.

This is exactly in our to do list. Put the cursor some place (by touch or keys) and long push of the < or > will delete forward or backward. It is way down in our to do list though.

For now we plan to release the existing version that the four smart buttons hold the last four entered texts.

Since the last text is already on the keyboard main screen, we will put the past previous four points in the four boxes.

I don't see that we need to have the smart boxes for the Point Name keyboard. Point names are never going to be duplicated. We do need them for the Description entry keyboard called from the Accept As white box:

Here the smart box database entries could be shared with the normal Collect>Description entries.

For point name, text may be similar and add a suffix to it. For Code Description we already have. It is in our plan to add this to all other places after we finish the design.
