Be sure to make use of the Reset Tracking when it seems to be dragging longer than it should.
Adam is exactly right about Hybrid RTK. You're waiting, but you're not wasting time. All of that data is getting stored, waiting to be sent to DPOS for processing with the base.
The fact is that RTK doesn't work everywhere, even Javad's. It works a lot of places, but not everywhere. Sometimes it works in places, but it may be faster to turn it in with the total station (especially if you're running a two many crew anyway). As the guy in the field, you have to be able to look at the situation and determine which technology will produce the required results the fastest. You're ability to answer that question will be THE KEY in determining how profitable you are (in my very humble opinion). For a solo guy that equation looks a bit different than for the two man crew. For Adam or Matt, working by themselves, two thousand feet from the truck, the calculus is "I can wait here for 10 minutes to get a verified fix, or I can walk back to the truck in 5minutes, get the gun and bring it back here, shoot a pair of points to occupy and backsight with RTK, set the gun up and turn it in. For a solo guy, he's doing every step of this. For a two man crew, the labor is divided up. It could be for the two man crew, it's faster to do the pair and turn it in.
You all probably already know what I'm talking about, but it's the reality. The cool thing is that you have a choice. Before systems like the LS, the answer was always traverse in with the gun. Now you get to use a bit more creativity to determine the best course of action.
