November 11th, 2024:

JAVAD GNSS is pleased to announce J-Field version 4.0.1.661 and GNSS Firmware version 4.2.2.221117 are released and available for TRIUMPH-LS+ update.

J-Field 4.0.1.661 is a maintenance release that updates the base configurations on the other Smart Antenna products from the TRIUMPH-LS Plus,
as well as several feature updates for the user interface, NTRIP and bug fixes.

For more details, see the release notes for J-Field 4.0.1.661 on https://www.javad.com/support/firmware/release-notes/jfield-4-0-1-661/.

Any advantage to use this release version instead of the previous prerelease version, (of the same number) I have needed to use for the last year with my LS+ and T1MP base?
Have had issues with visual stakeout and auto reset engines not seeming to function.

If the version number is the same, there is not any difference or changes from when it is moved from prerelease to release. It looks like all branches are the same now and set to this version.

As Matt outlined, J-Field version 4.0.1.661 and GNSS Firmware version 4.2.2.221117 are released and replace the pre-release f/w version :)

Trajectory does not work with this firmware version. DO NOT update to this version if you need to use Trajectory!

I made the mistake of updating to this version and lost the ability to do Trajectories. I was running J-Field 4.0.0.1216 and GNSS 4.2.02220225 and Trajectory worked fine for me a month ago. I made a restore point before updating to this version, and when I restored it just now, it put J-Field back to 4.0.0.1216, but GNSS is at 4.2.2.221117 and Trajectory still doesn't work. Can this GNSS update be rolled back?

This is a serious loss of functionality and I'm surprised that this version was set to Release despite the fact that this is has been a known issue for months now. Is this being addressed?

Hi John, I just tried trajectories and it worked for me. There is likely some setting preventing it from working for you. Can you describe in more detail the issue you are having. I can take a look if you connect to RAMS with the receiver setup outside where it can obtain a fix.

The GNSS firmware should not have anything to do with collecting trajectories as they are collected through J-Field and not the GNSS firmware.

Matt, It's on RAMS now. SN976. Password is Matt.

It collects a point just fine, but not a trajectory. When I press Start T., J-Field shows Fixed for the first shot, then changes to CDF for subsequent shots, and the number of satellites drops considerably. The Engines show No Data. I think the Engines page sometimes shows other errors, but I can't remember what. One time, the compass button showed an angry red exclamation point that I had never seen before. I saved some screen shots, but in the process of updating and restoring firmware, they got deleted. I also can't seem to save a screen shot now. It plays the shutter click sound when I press PrtScrn, but it doesn't save the picture. Also, I can't connect to RAMS on my computer. Feels like the whole Javad system is falling apart.

Call or text me if you like. 970-466-0552. I'll be around all day. If you would rather wait until next week sometime, that's fine too. Let me know. Thanks for taking a look at this.

Hi John,

Thanks for setting it up on RAMS. When I tested trajectories I was using a standard LS with GNSS firmware 3.7.11 and it worked. I think I found the issue and it appears you are correct that it is related to the GNSS firmware. It appears that trajectory collecting switches the RTK into extrapolation mode. When I test extrapolation mode on your unit the RTK engines show No Data and it does not work, the same as when trying to collect a trajectory. I will try to get someone to provide a solution for this.

Hi folks,
I'm having trouble getting my unit to update from J-Field 4.0.0.1216 to 4.0.1.661. I've tried updating the unit about 6 times. It acts like it is working correctly, but after it boots back up, it's still at 4.0.0.1216, and the software update screen shows one update available. I used to update my unit all the time without any issues, but it has been a while, so maybe I'm missing something very basic. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? I've noted my steps below.

Software Update Screen - 1 update is available - Jfield 4.0.0.1216 (shows 116.9MB 4.0.1-661 in red next to it)
Click Update button
Update procedure is ready to start. Are you sure? > Yes
Do you want to create a restore point? > Yes
Creating restore point
System reboots
And the update is not installed (no error messages)

Thanks!

You may have to do a clean install instead of an update after do a factory reset.

Oh boy... I really don't want to do that! I have all of my settings how I like them. Maybe I should just stay on 4.0.0.1216. But, from a project standpoint, it's a good time to do a factory reset as I'm getting ready to start two big projects. Do you have any thoughts on the benefits of updating to the current J-Field?

I believe that Trajectory was the main fix in the current release. I have not noticed any difference in the 2 other that.
