I was also having issues with CDF today running my 35 watt radio. It showed 100% and packets counting up but showed CDF and no data on my engine screen.
Does the d8psk that we were told we needed to switch to have that much shorter range than the dqpsk that we were on previously? Matthew suggested I try d16psk but I never went back to my base to change it today. How would it compare and would it work ok with the LS plus?
So....Matthew Sibole helped me find this option in base/rover setup to change to manually selecting external radio and it made a gigantic difference......I hadn't gotten over 2700' with the 35w since getting the LS Plus and I drove out to 6300' yesterday and still had 100% radio - even without the external antenna.I wrote about modulation and radio range in the Quick Start Guide as it relates to 5 Hz correction rates. It is still relevant.

D8PSK probably has about a 10% shorter range than DQPSK.
Also you need to select External Radio in the Base/Rover configuration if external Base radio is used or select Internal Radio if internal radio is used.
Do not use the Auto mode. It has been found that Auto mode may be causing problems.
What exactly was changed that made the difference?So....Matthew Sibole helped me find this option in base/rover setup to change to manually selecting external radio and it made a gigantic difference......I hadn't gotten over 2700' with the 35w since getting the LS Plus and I drove out to 6300' yesterday and still had 100% radio - even without the external antenna.
During the day, I had to do a hard reset on the LS and it "seemed" to go back to its previous ways of the radio not being as "strong". I went back into that same setting and it was still set on what we started with....
Could the command have gotten "reset" somehow?
Once changed, unless we go back to internal radio, does anything have to be done with this setting from day/day or job/job?

Adam. What specific troubles are you experiencing? Range? Connection? Thanks.I've seen troubles with uhf too. Not sure if it's related. I don't have an LS plus. Today I saw very good results with the standard LS and the latest prerelease. I have it set to core 1 20 and max signals 30.
Nate I dont have LS plus or the setting I believe hes talking about.@Mitchell D Lane this could be contributing.

Mitchell, this has nothing to do with your issue. Nate, Mitchell is using a Triumph-LS and Triumph-2 with HPT435BT, same as you. This thread is discussing issues with different settings that affect multi-constellation performance.
No, my troubles were from the J-Link radio. It has been fixed with a firmware update and now stays on all day without quitting broadcasting.Adam. What specific troubles are you experiencing? Range? Connection? Thanks.
It is exactly that Bill. The steps back are frustrating and are the nature of the Pre release versions of firmware, but Oh My! the steps forward are truly remarkable. When they get this baby all lined out I truly believe they’ll be NOWHERE you can’t take it (ok not inside a building maybe, but that’s about it)! The combination of 4 constellations, 4 super engines and the addition of the rtpk feature (which is just plain and simply a complete game changer) is going to likely make even the most inaccessible points gettable.Seems like one step forward, two steps back.
They certainly are.....I’ve “heard” some things have been “figured out” but, sadly, nothing’s been posted on here by those in the know giving us all who are in desperate need of information, some definitive answers. I think a lot of us would just appreciate some informative updates. The old saying “no news is good news” isn’t always accurate.Sounds great, but these UHF radio problems seem to be a consistent issue. Right now, mine is not connecting at all.
Did you tell it to use the external like I posted on the other thread?Sounds great, but these UHF radio problems seem to be a consistent issue. Right now, mine is not connecting at all.

I was referring to just a long hold of the power button until the unit powered off.Hello Darren,
Please describe, what do you mean under " hard reset on the LS".
If you select "Base Radio - External", the setting will be saved and keep the value after "Turn Off" or "Reboot".
